Cleaning and Maintenance

Frameless showerscreens

  • Check hinge and clamp fittings at least once every six months to ensure screws have not become loose, and that the hinges operate smoothly.
  • Check that there is adequate clearance between all glass edges and that buffers and stops are intact.
  • The best way to keep the glass free of potentially damaging water spots is to squeegee the glass after every use. A routine of using a squeegee after showering is a great habit to get into.  It’s a minimal investment in time and will save you a great deal of cleaning at a later date.

Showerscreen hardware

  • To clean hardware such as hinges and brackets use a mild detergent and warm water solution to wipe clean. Then rinse with clean warm water. To minimise cleaning, dry brackets and hinges after every shower.
  • Under no circumstances use solvent or harsh detergents, bleach, scourers or any other abrasive cleaner. Failure to do so may void the guarantee.

Showerscreens – Fully framed and Perimeter Framed

  • The best way to keep the glass free of potentially damaging water spots is to squeegee the glass after every use. A routine of using a squeegee after showering is great habit to get into.  It’s a minimal investment in time and will save you a great deal of cleaning at a later date.
  • Aluminium frames should be wiped dry after showering with a clean, non-abrasive damp cloth.
  • Occasional use of a mild detergent and warm water solution may be necessary to shift stubborn dirt and stains.
  • Under no circumstances use solvent or harsh detergents, bleach, scourers or any other abrasive cleaner on frame. If residue from glass cleaning does come in contact with these surfaces rinse immediately with clean warm water.

Glass and mirrors

  • To clean, lightly spray the face of the glass or mirror with a reputable brand of glass cleaner, following the manufacturer’s on pack instructions.
  • Alternatively, add a few drops of methylated spirits to a clean, nonabrasive damp cloth then wipe the glass or mirror. Buff with a clean lint free cloth for a streak free finish.
  • Moisture, and particularly liquid chemical cleaners, should be kept away from the back and edges of mirrors. If unavoidable ensure that you dry any residue immediately.
  • Eucalyptus oil, allowed to penetrate, will assist the removal of adhesive labels.
  • If, when installed, sticks have been left under the mirror please leave for 7-10 days before removing.

Splashbacks

  • After installation please leave splashbacks for 4 days before cleaning.
  • Painted glass splashbacks must be kept clean and free from surface contaminants.
  • General cleaners recommended for glass are suitable as cleaning agents.
  • Sponges, chamois and soft cloths may be used, but must be rinsed frequently to remove any foreign particles that could scratch or mark the glass surface.
  • Products similar to steel wool, scourer pads etc. must not be used in any circumstance, as they will permanently damage the product surface. Under no circumstances use solvent or harsh detergents, bleach, or any other abrasive cleaner. Failure to do so may void the guarantee.
  • The beauty of a glass splashback is the ease of maintenance. All that is needed is a regular wipe with a soft cloth for a sparkling finish.
